Determining Factors in Planning a Tour

  • Destination – What countries to include?
  • Departure date – this will affect the price of the tour if you go during the low, high, peak, or holidays periods.
  • Length of the trip – number of nights
  • Meal plan – What meals to include: H/B (Breakfast and Dinner only) or F/B (Breakfast lunch and dinner).
  • Class of hotel accommodation – 5*or Deluxe, 4* or First Class, 3* or Tourist Class.
  • Anticipated number in the group – 20 paying members is a standard average. Buses hold up to 50 passengers.
  • Tips and personal gratuities – Many tour hosts prefer to include all tips in the total cost of the tour. Usually, you are expected to tip any one who performs special individual services for you -- such as headwaiters, bus drivers on your tour bus, sightseeing guides, etc. For general planning purposes, you should expect tips to run from $75 to $100 per person, depending on the length of your tour. Including the tips and gratuities will save you from passing the hat at every corner.
