LAMA TOURS is a family owned and operated Travel Corporation who built its fine reputation through dedication to develop quality tours with a personal touch. Each program is planned on an individual basis with great emphasis given to the individual needs of specific groups. Our specialty is “Pilgrimage Tours” from USA, Canada and Mexico to the Bible Lands. As professional Travel agents, we welcome participants from Southern Europe, Latin America and the rest of the world. As wholesale Tour operators, we do not practice Political or Alternative Tourism; and therefore we practice NO charters, NO unsafe trekking, No herding of people, No unnecessary bussing, and no tours ever planned to unsafe areas. Home stays will be arranged when requested by the clients and group promoters.
On a personal level, George S. Lama, founder and first chairman began his career as a licensed tour guide in 1960, and trained with the airlines and master tour operators of the time in Jordan, Syria and Lebanon. He worked his way up to become a Travel Consultant and Tour Director traveling for his company around the Near East Countries including Israel. He remained at the helm of Lama Tours until his retirement after five decades of service in 2011.
The need to set up an independent agency was fulfilled in 1970 when Lama Tours became an international corporation. It grew from its original offices in Bethlehem to multiple agencies in the United States, Canada and Europe thanks to satisfied clients passing on to others the memorable experiences they had with LAMA Tours where tour members are always the top priority.
Our Home office in Bethlehem has operated from the same street location, under the same ownership and management since 1970. This continuity has allowed us to maintain our original policy of offering quality travel at most competitive prices. With agents and correspondents on both sides of the Ocean, we are uniquely qualified to better serve the travel needs of the Christian Traveler. As we approach our 42nd anniversary, you have the commitment of our staff and Management that we will maintain this level of service for many anniversaries to come.
